Mercure Milton Keynes

The staff really go out of their way to make your stay good. Special thanks to the tall guy from the restaurant in the mornings. Even with a wedding party there, he had breakfast ready and hot for everyone. The breakfast was the best I’ve had at this kind of hotel in the UK. The gym was great, my room was clean and the bed was super comfy. All around a great weekend stay. Thanks, I’ll be back.

We booked a last-minute night away, and the Mercure was decorated with beautiful Christmas trees and festive details. We got a warm, friendly welcome as soon as we arrived, especially from Monica at reception. Her smile and lovely manner stood out, and I thanked her when we left. Our double room was well presented and suited our needs, with a rainfall shower, kettle, tea and coffee. We had a three-course evening meal, which looked good and tasted lovely. The crumble was amazing. Breakfast was buffet style. I was a little disappointed they didn’t have crunchy nut cornflakes, but my husband tucked into a full English with freshly brewed coffee.

The bar food was delicious and there was plenty of it. We didn’t eat in the restaurant. There are lots of sockets in the room, including USB points, and although the EV chargers weren’t working during our visit, there were plenty of high speed chargers in MK. We’d definitely stay again. The small issues we had wouldn’t put us off. We visited the Mercure, Milton Keynes, to see a friend. It’s modern, immaculately clean and well located, and the staff were all friendly and attentive. Our ground floor room near reception was spacious and clean, though the linked bed was a bit uncomfortable. At night there was a dripping noise, presumably from the air-conditioning unit. It was bearable, but might bother some people. We were there in autumn, though the AC would probably be welcome in summer. The room was cleaned daily, but on one day it seemed only partly done. The towels were changed and bathroom cleaned, but the bed wasn’t made and no coffee sachets were left. Reception sorted it out.

Breakfast was table service, and we both had the full English. We asked for two of everything except black pudding, with one ample slice, and it was cooked perfectly and very filling. The coffee was strong and good, and there was a nice assortment of teas. I couldn’t manage another bite, but my husband made room for a pastry and said it tasted good. Checkout was simple, and the morning receptionist was friendly and professional. We stayed for one night on Friday while visiting family a few miles away for a birthday. The car park was busy when we arrived, but we found a space without trouble. The receptionist welcomed us politely and gave us useful information. We’d paid a discounted supplement for a superior room, which was clean and large, with extra towels in the wardrobe and plenty of sockets. The bed was very firm, but that’s what we have at home, so it suited us. The room stayed quiet all night and the heating worked well. We didn’t eat there that evening, but stopped at the bar for a nightcap when we returned. The bar staff were friendly and professional. We’d choose this hotel again.
