The food was freshly cooked, nicely presented, generously portioned and great value. My sister and I came for the Bank Holiday weekend so she could see friends in Milton Keynes and Bletchley, and we also visited her husband’s grave in Wolverton. The hotel is in a quiet housing estate, not far from Junction 14, so driving into Milton Keynes was easy. There’s free parking for hotel and pub guests, plus a park and woodland walks nearby to explore. Our room, number 11, was spacious and nicely decorated, with a view of the Hungry Horse Pub and Restaurant and the green, wooded area. It stayed peaceful all weekend, even though there was a family event with Bouncy Castles and food and drink available outdoors. The staff were really friendly. My sister said it was the best hotel we’d stayed in. We’ve tried five different hotels over the last three years, and we’ll come back. She wants to request Room No 11 again.

Breakfast was very good, with a nice continental selection, and the person serving was friendly. The bed was nice and comfortable. There was a strong smell of smoke in the room, which seemed odd with all the no smoking signs, and there was a lot of hair in the bath. In the morning, I could hear a team meeting near the bar with lots of swearing.

Had another lovely afternoon at the Broughton Hotel/pub. Steve looked after us at the bar and on the floor, and made us feel welcome. The food was amazing. Highly recommend it for a meal or a drink with friends.

The food came out hot, the drinks arrived quickly, and the whole team made our first visit feel personal. Paula and Jo knew the menu well and gave us great suggestions. One of them even checked with the kitchen about a dietary request. They were attentive without hovering, and greeted us with real smiles. When someone in our group knocked over a drink, it was cleaned up and replaced within seconds, with no fuss or charge. That kind of response was much appreciated. The Broughton felt warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. It’s clear the staff take pride in their work. We’ll be back with friends. If you want a pub that takes good care of its guests, this is it.
