Exmoor House

Jane & James were attentive throughout, and when a fan stopped working they replaced it right away. We stayed for two nights and loved their lovely establishment. The room had every comfort, all of superior quality, and breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. I’d highly recommend it and would stay again if the chance comes up.

We were lucky to find a parking space right opposite the house, which was a real bonus in Dunster. Jane made us feel very welcome and showed us to rooms that were spotless and well presented. We appreciated the eco-conscious way shared milk was stored in the fridge and labelled with room numbers to reduce food waste. There were cookies in each room and a few extra snacks in the common area, which we resisted! Jane also arranged an ironing board for us, a lovely help before the evening. We’d sent in our breakfast choices the day before, and breakfast was delicious, served with real care. Chatting with other guests in the shared areas and breakfast room added to the charm. The first impression was positive too, as a follow-up email said we could arrive after 2 PM instead of our original 4 PM check-in. Thank you, Jane, for a wonderful stay. We’d love to return. Jane & James were superb hosts, and the place was very clean and well positioned. Parking might be a very small issue, but it does mean you see more of Dunster. I’d recommend staying here. Thanks to Jane and James.

The freshly cooked breakfast was generous and brilliant, with a lovely selection of local jams. Absolutely lush, just what I wanted from a little autumn getaway with my partner. James was welcoming and so friendly, and helped with local food recommendations. He even went above and beyond by asking a local pub whether rugby would be shown anywhere. Our room was spacious, lovely, and immaculate. The bed was super comfortable, with lovely goose feather and down pillows and duvet. As a tall person, I often find towels too small, but these big fluffy ones were great. Thanks so much, James. We didn’t get to meet Jane, and I hope she feels better soon.
