The views are beautiful, and after a long day walking the comfy rooms feel like a real treat. Karen and Neil are such a lovely couple, and the welcome is unlike anything I've had at a B&B. We’ve stayed twice and really hope it won’t be our last. The food is out of this world, and sharing the dining room with everyone and hearing their stories is wonderful. I can’t find the words for what a great stay it is.

We had to wait until 3:30 to check in, so we passed the time at a cafe in Keld. After a very wet day hiking the Coast to Coast, the rooms were just the haven we needed. Neil and Karen made us feel very welcome. Neil offered us refreshments while Karen was busy in the kitchen. Dinner was a lovely three-course meal, and everyone staying there ate together, which made it a social evening. Just right after a long hike.

It was lovely sitting and chatting with the other guests, and dinner was great, especially the cooking and the tasty dessert. We only booked at the last minute, so I felt lucky to get a room. After we made our way up the track, Karen greeted us and chatted about the development of the house. She was a great host. Our room was very clean and had a great shower. A brilliant stay, and I’d definitely come back if I walk the Pennine Way.

Dining with the other guests was my favourite part. It was such a fun, unusual experience, and we all had a laugh. Karen’s cooking is a delight, too. The room was lovely and super clean, with a gorgeous view of the hills. Neil welcomed us as soon as we arrived, and he was a brilliant host. At breakfast, Karen came over for a chat, and both she and Neil know the area so well and had lots of recommendations. It was my partner’s birthday, and they put up a lovely banner, brought out a candle at breakfast, and even sang happy birthday. We had an amazing stay and can’t wait to return.

This is more like a mini hotel than a B&B, but with the personal service you get from owners Neil and Karen, which you won’t find at a hotel. I’d wanted to stay for years and finally got the chance, though sadly we could only spend one night. The walk up the Pennine Way and back via the track and road was well worth it. Five stars for everything, and even ten wouldn’t be enough. If you haven’t been, go see for yourself!
