Breakfast came with the price and was quick, piping hot and delicious. We slept really well too, as it was quiet despite being close to the town centre. The room was just right for what we needed, with a huge bed and towels provided. We got to check in early and were given a complimentary upgrade, which we really appreciated. On-site parking was handy, and all the staff looked after us brilliantly. Excellent value for money, and I’d definitely recommend staying here.
The beef stroganoff was so good that we came back two weeks later to order it again. We’d first stopped for lunch while on a day trip to Nantwich, and everyone had a fabulous meal. Big thanks to Nicole and Chef. Will for all their efforts. The service was exceptionally friendly.
After a day at the Battle of Nantwich reenactment, stopping at the Cheshire Cat for a pint and a “battle burger” felt just right after all that local history. The pub has a great atmosphere and a real sense of place. The burger was generous, well-cooked and exactly what I needed after being on my feet all day. The pint was spot on too. We were just a stone’s throw from where Parliamentarian forces famously defeated the Royalists in 1644, in one of the North West’s most important Civil War battles. Great food and drink. If you’re in Nantwich for the history, or just fancy a top-quality pint and burger, it’s well worth a visit.
Avoid at all costs. The first room wasn’t the one we’d booked on booking . Com, smelled of curry, and had filthy carpets and a dirty shower room. They said they knew about the carpets and were waiting for new ones. The bed was very uncomfortable, the shower plug was blocked, and there were no radiators, just plug-in electric heaters. We were moved to another room, then told at the bar that we couldn’t get breakfast in the morning because the cook would be late. The crown and other establishments have better things to offer.
The beef pie was amazing, as were the vegetables with it and the separate side of onion rings. The whole menu looked good, but that’s what I went for after dropping in between house viewings on a strong recommendation. I’m glad I listened. A proper foodie pub in a great town, easy 5 Stars. All the staff are great, especially Sam behind the Bar and Lydia on tables. They really make a difference and are a credit to themselves and the Cheshire Cat.
