The Swan Inn

The pub is in a pleasant village and has a nice feel, and the staff were friendly, but lunch with our walking group was disappointing. There were about 28 of us, and we’d sent our choices a couple of days in advance. At my table of six, two people had finished before three of us had even been served. My fish was fine when it finally came, but the chips were only lukewarm. Two colleagues ordered the same pasta, yet one got a hot plate and the other a cold one, again after others had finished. The meals arrived in a very stop-start way. I didn’t time it, but mine seemed to come about 25 minutes after the first plate at our table. I understand a group this size makes it hard to serve everyone at once. Still, most pubs we visit on our twice-monthly walks manage to get all the meals out within 5/6 minutes. If the kitchen can’t serve a large party on a similar timescale, they should say so when the booking is made. I wouldn’t want to put off smaller groups of, say, 4/6, but the kitchen seems to struggle with bigger numbers.

The Sunday lunch was delicious and great value. The rooms were lovely and clean, with a good bed.

Set in a lovely Cheshire village, this place was faultless for our overnight stay. The room was smart, with a great bathroom and shower, and it was separate from the main pub building with parking right outside. The Swan Innat Wybunbury is a proper countryside pub, full of quirky character. Cracking food, a great breakfast and a wide range of drinks too.

Such a great spot to drop in for a night and be treated so well. The rooms were clean and fresh, the food was really good, and the staff were the friendliest ever. Had so many laughs with Pauline, what a legend!
