Hideaway Escapes

Woodlove was easy to find, even after dark, and had a really lovely, quiet feel. The emus nearby made friendly neighbours. Inside, the yurt was gorgeous and cosy, with a warm fire, a big bed, fridge freezer and a cute kitchenette. The hob came in handy. There’s a compost toilet in a horsebox beside the yurt, plus a flush toilet block not far away. The little honesty shop by reception wasn’t overpriced. The owners were easy to reach and very helpful when we needed them. Great experience.

The owners gave us such a warm welcome, and we had a perfect stay. We’ll definitely be back. We were here for Skomer Island and the Puffins, less than an hour’s drive away, and had our own tent on a non-electric pitch. The canvas tents with electricity looked amazing too. Toilets and showers were kept to a high standard, and the hot water was lovely. The animals were a highlight: the gentle, friendly donkeys, the amazing alpacas and guinea pigs who love a little grass. The honesty shop was a great extra, with a few tropical critters inside. We settled our bill there after the stay, and everything was great value. We also took home a lovely little wool blanket and a homemade cactus candle that we absolutely love.

So peaceful and tucked among the trees, it felt remote. We stayed in the yurt beside the hilarious emus, who like berries and seeds. They’d left milk, tea, coffee and hot chocolate as a welcome pack, along with logs and firelighters for the log burner. There was plenty of cutlery, crockery, pans and other things we needed.

Great value, and really close to Narbeth, so easy to find. We stayed in a Yert with four comfy beds and its own kitchen area. It had a stove, fridge and loads of equipment and utensils, so we could cook easily. We made a great cooked breakfast. The shared facilities were clean and well stocked, with a nice hot shower and washing-up area. Loved seeing all the animals too, donkeys, Lamas, goats, rabbits, an Emu and more. Lovely little campsite, with lovely staff. Highly recommend.
