I’ve never stayed here, it’s too close to home. But I’ve been coming to this pub for a while, and the food’s never let me down. It always arrives hot, with a smile, and it’s been fantastic every time. I think I’m nearly through the menu, though I’ve repeated a couple of dishes. It’s a nice place to spend time, and even better when you’re eating.

We left really disappointed, especially for £90 a head, and wouldn’t do it again. The staff worked hard, but it felt like they were struggling to keep up with a conveyor belt of customers. We were there for three hours for a four course meal, and the food quality, particularly the turkey dinner, wasn’t great. It came covered in gravy, with no cranberry or bread sauce. The Christmas touches were limited to a Santa hat for each customer, with no crackers or Christmassy napkins. Those details were minor, though. We’d eaten here before and the food had always been good, so we thought we’d treat ourselves to Christmas dinner yesterday. The whole experience didn’t live up to the price.

We only managed one visit while we were in the area for a short stay, and I wish we could come here all the time. The food and service were exceptional, and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Would absolutely recommend, and hopefully we’ll be back to visit soon!

The only awkward bit is the small car park. At busy times, finding a space can be tricky. Inside, it’s a lovely little pub with a cosy, welcoming feel, and the friendly staff make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. The food is excellent, full of flavour and clearly made with care, and there’s a good range of drinks too. A great place for a relaxed meal or quiet evening out, definitely worth visiting.

Those Sunday roasts are to die for. I’ve eaten here many times and have been more than impressed by the lovely team, the service and the food. I’ve never tasted anything as good anywhere. Can’t wait to go back again and again....xx
