We’ve been back four times and have left happy every time. The breakfasts and lunch dishes are fresh, tasty and well seasoned, with the kitchen keeping up the same high standard whatever we order. The Fish and Chips is a standout, with crisp batter, tender fish and sides that go well with it. Service is friendly and attentive without hovering, and the staff make you feel looked after. We’ll definitely return.

The chicken tikka was delicious, and the Jaffa Cake Slice, which seemed fairly new to the menu, made a lovely dessert. Prices were reasonable, and Colin was welcoming and helpful. I was seated straight away in the warm, friendly interior, right by the beach. I’d come back next time I visit New Quay and would recommend it to other visitors.

Lovely spot by the water for a pub meal. The lasagna seemed to be the group favourite, though the pie and chips were nice too.

We had a very large sea-view room, room 7, after an upgrade. It was really more like a suite and was fab for our two-night stay. The location is superb, the staff were warm and the service was excellent. Breakfast was good value with plenty of choice, and the pub classics and burgers are reasonably priced. We ate late on Sunday evening, though, and my skin-on fries weren’t hot while the peas were sparse and very shrivelled. My husband’s pie and chips was great. I’m sure it would be fine at another time. They also do two cocktails for £10.

We just stopped in for drinks. The staff were friendly and took time to explain the cocktail options to my friend, and they used branded spirits rather than cheap, low-quality ones. We didn’t eat, but the dishes coming out looked good and people at the tables said they were enjoying them. It’s dog and child friendly.
