We stayed at the motorhome site next door, which is still called the Lodge. The welcome was excellent, everything was spotless, and the views were beautiful. Highly recommended.

Our friends found the Lodge for us when we came to the area for a 50th wedding anniversary. We had a lovely time at the party, and the Lodge made it even better. The hosts were super, breakfast was wonderful, and our room was very cosy. Thank you.

A really peaceful club site in a lovely setting, good for walking and cycling. Brian & Jane are so nice and helpful.

We used The Lodge CL site, not the B&B. The pitches are a good size, drain well and have shrubs between them. Facilities are basic: each pitch has EHU, fresh water is at a central point, and there’s a toilet waste point. The lane in is gravel rather than tarmac and has a few very large potholes. There’s also a fishing pool. The location works well for the nearby nature reserve, or for trips further out to the potteries, Alton Towers, Trentham Gardens, Bridgemere and Snugburys.

It’s a caravan park now, as they no longer run a B&B. The place itself is well kept and has a fishing pond, and the memorial site for the Mini Pit, where many men and boys lost their lives, is very close by, though a bit overgrown. My first impression was good, but setting up the electric was a hassle: the mains connection was hidden at the edge of the pitch among nettles, weeds and other plants, so I had to clear a space and still got stung. The toilet block has two toilets and two showers for everyone, which is a bit awkward. The automatic light at the entrance switches off too quickly, and on a warm day there can be a smell from the drains.
