The location is hard to beat, and the balcony was a lovely place to sit. The apartments are comfortable and laid out well, with the toilets, showers and cooking facilities all there. The main bathroom shower attachment was too small, though, and we were told there'd be a hair dryer when there wasn't one, so we had to go out and buy one.

It's difficult to get a proper night's rest here. Sirens from the emergency vehicles passing the nearby crossroads carry on into the night, and intoxicated people often gather around the building and disturb the peace.

Everyone in our group of 10 tried a different dish, and we all enjoyed the food. The staff were friendly and helpful without pushing extras, suggesting rice for two and two family naan breads for the table. It was a tasty meal at a fair price. Just make sure you arrive on time: we were about 10 minutes late on a Tuesday evening, and our reserved table had already been given away, so we waited in the bar for another one. It wasn't a major problem, but felt a bit strict.

The staff were really helpful, and the accommodation was comfortable, right in the city centre and only a few minutes' walk from the train station. I'd recommend staying here if you're coming to Newcastle.

I booked an apartment on the third floor at 11 waterloo street through booking.com, with a 30-day cancellation and refund policy. I had to cancel after the government brought in further restrictions in the north east and all my planned events were cancelled. I'm outraged by how unprofessionally booking.com and Newcastle City Centre Apartments, as listed on the site, handled it. They breached the agreement and didn't refund me within 30 days, and my message to the apartment through the app was rudely ignored. Booking.com later told me they would issue a refund, but then emailed to say it had gone to a credit card that isn't mine. Customer service blamed the apartment. I've never had a credit card, and I paid by debit card. It seems obvious the refund should go back to the card used to pay, and I'm appalled they got this wrong. I'd strongly advise against booking an apartment here through booking.com under "Newcastle City Centre Apartments". Update: booking.com had since resolved the issue and been very helpful. That still doesn't excuse Newcastle City Centre Apartments' poor communication and the incorrect payment.
