Crockets Hotel

I booked one night and won’t be back. While I was checking in, a staff member told me, "I hope you brought ear plugs there's a 30th birthday party tonight!" The room door wouldn’t lock. I was out for most of the day, then got back at about 10:30pm to find the bar packed and music playing. Half an hour later it was so loud my room was shaking, and the radiator rattled along with the beat. The music stopped around 12:30, but drunk people kept making a racket outside the front of the hotel until just after 2am. With walls this thin, it sounded like they were in my room. Horrific stay at a dump.

Rooms were spotless and the beds were comfy, and the staff were excellent. I arrived for a lads weekend and was straight into killer pool with the owner and locals. You get a free beer on arrival and your own room key, so you can come and go as you like. Everyone in the pub wants to hear about your night out, and they’re full of proper characters. Honestly, I could live there. Not the place for anyone posh or boring.

Don’t judge it by the cover: the bathroom was spotless, the place was clean and there was access to a full kitchen. The booking site messed up our reservation when we first arrived, so we didn’t end up staying that time. Even so, Steven cared about us having a good trip, whether or not we stayed at the hotel. Smashing place and smashing guy. Great for tradespeople.

Immaculate rooms and amazing service, with a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Amazing place, highly recommend.
