The central location is the only thing going for it, and there are benches in the centre too. The room was grimy, the mattresses disgustingly dirty, and there was just one plug socket for five people. Getting to the room felt like an escape room, with three different codes to get through. There were no curtains, no handle on the bathroom door and no shower door. Honestly, this has to be the worst place I’ve ever stayed.

The beds had paint on them from when the room and walls were painted without being covered. The shower was the worst I’ve ever used, and I’ve showered in fields. The locks barely worked, the floor was badly scratched and ruined, and the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly because its trim wasn’t attached right. If I could give zero stars, I would. Worst place I’ve stayed.

The rooms are basic but a great price. Ours was okay for a night or two, and the bed was clean. The floor was a bit dirty, though maybe that was just our room. Each door needs a code to get in, so the rooms felt secure. It’s a great location for checking out the nightlife.

We stayed for two nights in June. The bathroom and bedding were bearable, despite management going on about how much they pride themselves on clean bedding and making quite rude remarks in online replies to guest reviews. The pillows were thinner than a pancake, and I had to sleep on top of the duvet because I could feel the springs. There were dirty crumbs and hairs under the bed, on the carpet. From about 2:30am, doors kept slamming as drunk people came and went, shouting and singing Celtic songs until 5am. Then they slept for an hour and started playing the radio. There were no staff around, and they couldn’t care less. They charge a £20 deposit per person, but I don’t think there’s anything in the room worth £20. Horrible place. I’d never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
