We treated ourselves to a garden room with a hot tub in the new building. It was quiet and the room was great. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the staff were really warm and friendly, so we enjoyed our time here. There are beautiful walks and waterfalls at the Deane, right behind the hotel. We also took the hotel’s £25 per person offer for a David Lloyd day pass just around the corner, and were lucky enough to enjoy the outdoor heated pool in the sunshine.

The staff were even better than the lovely grounds, house and rooms at Jesmond Dene House. Everyone was so welcoming, hospitable and happy to help, they couldn’t have made our business trip any better. Special thanks to Abby at Reception, who was a lifesaver with a sensitive issue and handled it like a star. Many thanks!

If you want an old, gracious place to stay, this is a lovely choice. We’ve been twice and love the property’s striking Victorian features. It’s steeped in history and closely linked to the industrialist and engineer William Armstrong, who owned Jesmond Dene. The hotel sits right beside the beautiful dene, which is lovely to walk through. There’s fine dining as well as bar and lounge food. The dining and lounge rooms are gorgeous, especially with the Christmas decorations.

We stayed at Jesmond Dene House on 19.2.26 to celebrate our first anniversary, and the team made it extra special. Everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our room was beautiful and very quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the amenities were great. The food and drink were really high quality. We already can’t wait to come back for future celebrations.

The suites are well worth paying extra for. Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful, and breakfast was good and relaxed, though it may feel slow if you’re in a hurry. If you are, book ahead or let the staff know. The Christmas decorations were nicely done, and the place is laid out well. The cafetiere filtered coffee came very weak, as seems to be the fashion, so ask for it stronger if you like your coffee more continental.
