We stayed from 06/02/26 to 08/02/2026, and the location worked perfectly for visiting family in Newcastle. We’re there regularly, and staying at a hotel made things easier. It’s right by Kenton Bar shopping park and a Toby Carvery, with easy access to the motorway for the drive home. I used to work for the Accor group, so I trust the brand. We’d booked on a whim in December after coming to the bar for Boxing Day drinks with family. The staff we met were great. Thanks to the gentleman who put us in a quiet room, we’ve requested that same room for next time, and to the other gentleman who looked after our bags at checkout. We’ve already booked another stay for June to see family again. Looking forward to coming back :)

We had to be up at 2am for the airport, and the staff helped us get a coffee. At a lot of hotels that can be a struggle, so they really helped make the stay good. It’s a relaxed, welcoming place. There’s a pool table inside, and the hotel restaurant is well worth trying if you like food. The belly pork was especially good and wasn’t expensive. We’ll definitely stay here again.

The food was excellent this time, and although the restaurant was closed in the evening, we were still able to order food at the bar. I assume the restaurant was shut because there weren’t many guests. There was also a police visit after what seemed like a domestic disturbance in the foyer. On my previous stay I was impressed with the service, room and food, with nothing to fault. This visit was quite different: only one lift was working, the toilet door banged loudly when shut, and the toilet needed about 3-4 flushes to clear. If this had been my first stay, I wouldn’t have come back.

The pool table in reception was a nice touch, and reception itself looks good. The rest of the place felt a bit run down. Room servicing is only every other day, which nobody explained at check-in. They did bring fresh towels after we left ours in a pile on the floor, expecting housekeeping. Breakfast was okay, though it could all have been warmer. It’s a budget hotel, and I don’t think that’s clear from the Booking.com listing. If you know what to expect, it’s fine.

Convenient, hassle-free parking made the trip easier, and the hotel was clean and neat throughout. We stayed with my wife and our dog, and the pet-friendly setup was a big plus. We had a wonderful time at Novotel Newcastle Airport and would happily come back. A definite 10/10 for us ❤️
