Premier Inn Newcastle Airport - South

The breakfast was a letdown. As a vegan, I usually choose Premier Inn, but this time there were no vegan mushrooms, hash browns or bacon. For £10, all I could get was baked beans and a Quorn sausage, which isn't much of a deal. The receptionist was friendly and the customer service was great. The room was okay and clean, with a comfy bed.

It's close to the airport, but the noise from people is HORRENDOUS. We can hear someone, presumably a child, running around upstairs, and I've never had this problem with noise from above at a Premier Inn before. Every door shutting is audible too. It's AWFUL. There are no sockets next to the bed either. Spend a bit more and stay somewhere with soundproofing, TRUST ME. This place is nothing like the adverts promising a peaceful night.

The bed was fine, but the room felt old and tired, and the breakfast was shockingly bad. There was no coffee machine, only a jug of coffee included, while a cappuccino from the bar cost an extra £2.99. No fruit salad, hard stale croissants, and hash browns fried until they were like crisps. It was dirty, and the orange juice was in a scuffed black flask. I didn't drink it because nobody else was having any. I travel around the country, and this is the worst Premier Inn I've seen.

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, and the beds were comfortable. I slept well, and the shower was great. The bath, though, looked grubby from age and use and really needs replacing. The room itself let the place down. There are no sockets beside the beds, so charging a phone while keeping it nearby for an alarm or call is awkward. A socket or USB by the bed would help. The TV is fixed to the work desk, taking up space behind it, and can't be moved if you need to work. Turn it to watch from the desk and it sits right on top of you, leaving even less room. I was only there one night, and the free Wi-Fi was so slow I ended up using my phone's 5G hotspot instead. It's conveniently near the airport, just a quick metro ride and one stop away.
