The area was awful, and the place felt like an absolute dive. It was noisy and could have been cleaner. Avoid it.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, so it might work for one night if you can put up with the extra charge. But the shower was unusable, and I’d avoid the place because of how the deposit and checkout were handled. We paid a £25 deposit per person by bank transfer and expected not to get it back. Checkout was at 10am, but there was nobody at the desk. We waited 20 minutes, then left our key card on reception. Another group was waiting too, and they’d paid their deposit in cash. The owner called and said they’d “checked cameras,” which I don’t believe, and claimed I hadn’t left the key card. It felt like a way to keep people’s deposit money. There was also a £10 charge for every hour we arrived early, even though the room was ready. The owner came across like a shady landlord. Avoid and book somewhere less dodgy.

The cooked breakfast was a real highlight: it arrived right on time, piping hot, and was a lovely start to the day. The room and bathroom were spotless, the beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows, and the bathroom looked fairly new. Toiletries and tea and coffee were a nice extra for budget accommodation. Check-in was smooth, and the place was easy to find, close to the city center. The listing says the walls are soundproof, but they aren’t. We heard other people a couple of times, though it didn’t disrupt us. A shelf beside the bed, a room lamp and somewhere to hang clothes would have been handy, but their absence didn’t affect our stay. We were in Newcastle overnight for an event and would stay again. I’d recommend it for a short, cheap, no-frills visit.

The room was plain and basic, and parking wasn’t great. Staff were friendly enough, and the general atmosphere was OK. What really disappointed me was hearing partygoers arrive at 3am, shouting disgusting language. That isn’t the staff’s fault. It could suit a young group or someone needing a bed for one night. Also, where is my deposit? It still hasn’t been refunded. We left the room in acceptable condition, so please explain your policy on this kind of treatment.
