The location is good and the rooms are a decent size, but some things need work. Our mirror was cracked, there was no desk chair, the wardrobe hinges were broken, and the main door had been repaired around the lock, perhaps after someone had to break in. Most of the staff were friendly, though one man was very abrupt and could do with a customer service refresher. I’d stay again.

Breakfast was good, with different full English options and a help-yourself continental spread. They also had grapefruit juice, which I love. The staff were good and the location was convenient. My double room was a little small, the bathroom taps and shower were nice, but the decor looked pretty tired.

The staff were very friendly, which was probably the most memorable thing about the place. The hotel itself felt dated and a bit shabby, though it was a cheap option for the location. The bedroom was far too hot even though it wasn’t very warm outside. Opening the window was a mistake, as people coming back from a night out woke us at 2am. The bed wasn’t very comfortable either. I wouldn’t stay again, but I suppose you get what you pay for.

We stayed overnight in Newcastle for a friend’s birthday. The location was ideal and the staff were very friendly, but parking was a nightmare. The rooms looked really dated and need refurbishing. For what we paid, we expected a nicer room.
