The shared bathroom downstairs was tiny and badly outdated, barely more than a cubicle, and not a comfortable place to shower. Our room was on the ground floor, looking onto a little front patio with a strong damp, possibly wet-dog smell. A group spent the day drinking there, just about a metre from our bed. We had to keep the curtains drawn and the windows shut at night, which meant no light or privacy, and the room got very hot. People returning from a night out also sat outside our room talking loudly at 4:30am and woke us. Given the patio situation, the room shouldn't be rented, or at least guests should be told about it. We were only here one night and could use our other place down the road, which was so much better. If I'd booked for longer, I would've left, since this would have spoiled my week. One of the worst places I've stayed.

The room was clean and tidy, with a lamp, TV, kettle, mugs and fridge, and the shower had hot water. The shower curtain, though, looked very dirty and should be replaced. It would also help if someone answered the phone when you need assistance, since it always seems to go to voicemail.

I couldn't get the Wi-Fi password despite trying to contact them several times, and only received it the day after I had checked out. The showers had no hot water, and the place was very basic. The owners gave the impression they didn't care about the property or guests. I'd spend my money at a more reputable place. There are much better options in Newquay, so avoid this one.

The bed was the most uncomfortable I've slept in, and the shower curtain was dirty. The place just wasn't acceptable, and I wouldn't recommend it. Even on a budget, you can find somewhere better.

The rooms were decent and the price was okay. But the online reception process was extremely long, complicated and annoying, with some questions that felt unreasonable.
