The Sea View from our room was amazing, and the prices were excellent. We’ve paid more for worse hotels in Newquay! The rooms are spacious, and I really like the idea of paying for what you need. It’s right in the heart of Newquay, with a little breathing room from the main road bustle. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and parking outside costs less than the Council Car Parks. We’d definitely come back, and I’d recommend it for a weekend stay.

The location is great, and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room, though, felt like a hostel rather than even a one-star hotel: cramped, with a tiny bathroom, poor ventilation and bunk beds for three adults. Towels and the kettle and tea tray cost extra. There was no hand towel, not enough hooks for three guests, and barely room for toiletries. The shower cubicle was mouldy, and only cold water came from the basin tap. There weren’t enough power sockets for three people, just one chair, and the beds were very uncomfortable, with worn mattresses. The doors had no outside handles, so leaving meant slamming them and disturbing others. The parking area wasn’t big enough either.

It’s well located in central Newquay, and the breakfast was reasonable. The price is cheap, but next time I’d spend a few pounds more for a better hotel. The sink taps didn’t work, and I haven’t had to pay to rent a towel in a long time.

The harbour view is lovely, and it’s an easy walk into town. But the rooms are rough: the shower was dodgy and broken, and the window wouldn’t close. Staff keep an eye on who comes and goes, yet there was still some very loud romping from several foreign blokes. The walls are like cardboard.

The staff were helpful with everything, and the place was very clean and cheap. Breakfast was adequate. In summer the rooms get hot and you can hear everything, though I suppose that’s what happens with drunk stag parties. Probably not the best hostel for families.
