The Esplanade Hotel

Breakfast with a sea view was divine, and the rooms were lovely. The kids were delighted by the tucked-away hot chocolate drawer, too. We only booked at the last minute after our other accommodation fell through on the way, and everyone was so helpful and lovely. We met up with family in the lobby that evening, and it was pretty manic, with the kids running around and squealing. The staff seemed genuinely happy to have them there. The place is brilliantly equipped for families: a pool, indoor soft play, pool table, free milk and cookies in the evening, and a cinema room. The staff’s attitude was the best part, and AI can’t replace that. We WILL be back!

Cornwall is beautiful, and staying at The Esplanade Hotel made our girls’ trip even more memorable. Our room faced Fistral Beach, with incredible views that made the visit feel extra special. The hotel was stylish but welcoming, the food was delicious, and the friendly, helpful staff made us feel right at home. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Newquay.

Our boys, aged 9 and 4, had the best time, especially with the soft play, outdoor playground, build a bears, silent disco, and bedtime milk and cookies. Everything about the stay felt perfect. We booked at the last minute for my husband’s birthday, and I’m so glad we did. The hotel was spotless, the views were stunning, and every member of staff was extremely friendly. We’ll definitely return and recommend it to others. Thanks so much for a great stay!

We ended up cancelling our trip. Although the listing on booking.com said the hotel was dog friendly, the details said guests could be charged an £80 room cleaning fee if they arrived with a dog without telling them. I filled in a special request to say we’d bring a small dog. They emailed to say dogs weren’t allowed in the standard double room we’d booked, and that we’d need to upgrade for an extra £60 per night, plus £15 per night for the dog. That doesn’t feel very dog friendly to me.
