The view over the lough and Carlingford was phenomenal, and we loved watching the sea truck come and go. The beach opposite was an extra treat for the kids, and my son enjoyed both the sunset and sunrise. Staff were friendly and welcoming, the accommodation was faultless, and the bathroom was stunning. But the fire alarm went off at 3am, and we had to wait outside for an hour and a half before being allowed back in. It went off again at half past five. With young children, including one with special needs and sensory issues, that was awful and ruined our stay. We nearly went home on the second night. They offered us a free breakfast, but I felt the inconvenience should have meant money off our stay.

Good location. The room was warm and clean, and adequate for one night. The TV gave us trouble, but the owner advised us by phone to scroll through the channels, which worked. If I stayed again or for longer, I'd ask for a room with a window if possible.😁

The room had no window, just a roof vent. I opened it to cool the room, then came back to a wet bed. A sign had to be put on the door to have the room cleaned, and the tea tray wasn't replenished. From the outside, I don't think any of the rooms had windows. Such a pity, as the place is right on the seafront.

I booked a sea view front room at the bay guest lodge in early December. Last week they texted to say it was unavailable because they needed it for a family member, and offered us a room at the back with no view instead. We cancelled, of course, and were left flabbergasted. This place is a joke.
