Flagstaff Lodge

I ended up stopping here by chance when my van started playing up on the way from Belfast to Dublin. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The team were incredibly helpful and understanding when I had to leave the van for collection a few days later. I’ll definitely be back for another lovely night, and thanks to everyone. It’s a wonderful place, with super friendly staff, fantastic food and a warm feel. It’s also just off the motorway.

The food was delicious, with huge portions and plenty of gravy or pepper sauce. Ask for an extra sauce boat to take with you. Desserts were excellent too, and big enough to share. We’ll definitely come back, but after the rush. We tried the famous Sunday Carvery for the first time and it didn’t disappoint. We arrived at peak time, around 1:30, and parking was chaotic, though we found a space. You line up at the hot bar to choose your carvery food, and our wait was about 30 minutes, which felt long but was worth it. You pay before finding a seat in the other bar lounge area.

We had a beautiful, spacious, spotless room at Flagstaff Lodge just outside Newry. Dinner in the lodge was perfectly cooked and presented, and breakfast the next morning was just as impressive. The staff were warm, professional and attentive throughout, making the stay relaxed and delightful. I’d highly recommend Flagstaff Lodge Newry.

We stayed one night last weekend, 11th October, to celebrate a family birthday with 12 people. The staff made everyone feel so welcome, and I can’t praise their hospitality enough. The hotel met all our needs and more. The rooms were lovely, with cosy, comfortable beds and adjustable temperatures. There was fresh water in every room, and we had no complaints. Our evening meal and the service were outstanding, and made the celebration complete. Well done, staff at Flagship Lodge. We’ll certainly be back 👏👏👏
