Hugo the dog was a very cool part of the stay, and Darren and Victoria were such a welcoming couple. Their house is beautiful, with an en suite room, a large comfortable bed and a terrific shower. We enjoyed breakfast too. It’s a great spot to stay before or after walking in the Mourne Mountains or heading to the beach, both less than five minutes away.

Darren’s experience as a mountaineer was really useful when we were planning our hikes in Mourne Mountains. We booked the B&B as a base for those walks, and the tasty breakfasts set us up well each day. The mini bar was a nice way to wind down in the evening. Victoria, Darren and Hugo made us feel at home from the first day. Thanks again, and all the best to you and your young family. We hope to see you again in wonderful Ireland.

We stayed at Silent Valley B&B for the second time and had another lovely visit. Victoria, Darren, Isla and Hugo made us feel so welcome. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean, and breakfast was really tasty. There are beautiful walks nearby, both in the mountains and at lower levels, with amazing views. We’ll be back next year to stay again and explore more of the fantastic Mourne mountains.

We especially enjoyed Silent Valley and Newcastle while exploring Co Down, and this guest house was a great base. Darren and Victoria were wonderful hosts, along with their gentle, intelligent dog Hugo. The accommodation and hospitality were just right. It’s a beautiful new place, with stunning mountain views at the front and sea views behind. I’d highly recommend it.

Victoria and Darren were so pleasant and helpful, and it was a pleasure meeting them. The house and rooms are lovely, everything feels new, tidy and very clean, and my Ulster fry was cooked perfectly. This is the best B&B I’ve ever stayed in. I’ll definitely come back.
