Mourne Country House

The setting in the Mourne ANOB is beautiful, and the house itself was just right. Gareth has put a lot of thought into the details, from the little touches to the quality furniture. The stay was so enjoyable that I’d definitely come back, and the place compared well even with some top branded hotels.

The house felt beautiful and welcoming, and we really enjoyed meeting the family. Our room was cosy and comfortable, spotlessly clean, with attractive soft furnishings and a lovely ensuite. Breakfast was lovely too, and they’d thought of everything to help us feel at home. The best B&B we’ve ever stayed in.

The guest lounge was a favourite, with its fireplace and comfy armchair, and the whole place felt modern. Gareth was friendly and welcoming right away. We had a good view of a horse in a field with Mt Binnian behind it, and the bed was comfortable. The shower pressure felt like a miracle to me. Breakfast was among the best we’d had in two weeks in Ireland, and it was one of the best value stays of our trip. I’d gladly stay again.

Emma made the best breakfasts, using local produce and catering for my gluten-free needs, and baby Faith is a delight. The location is superb, with lovely views and easy access to Mourne Mountains trails. Gareth welcomed us into his and Emma’s home so warmly. The accommodation was spotless and beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds and inviting places to relax. Easily the best B&B experience we’ve had anywhere. Don’t hesitate to book.
