I was impressed by the evening meal and the staff and service. Breakfast was ordered in advance and didn't disappoint. The room was decent, though the small double had a soft mattress that could probably do with an upgrade. Nice shower and soaps. I'd stay again.

Our Canadian friends wanted to take us out for dinner, and I picked the Crown Hotel because it seemed to be the closest place to our home. We weren't disappointed. It was buzzing, but we were shown to a table quickly and got menus. The drinks arrived reasonably fast, and we were ready to order by then. The staff were clearly run off their feet but worked efficiently and stayed polite. We all thought the food was excellent, the staff brilliant and the atmosphere pleasant. I'd recommend it wholeheartedly.

Stopped in for food last Saturday. A young woman with black hair was handling both the restaurant and bar on her own and did a great job. The food was good and not too expensive. I'd stop in again next time I'm over.

The service was friendly, though we had to wait a while before anyone appeared. We liked the large, nicely decorated bar-restaurant, and the background music wasn't too loud. We enjoyed our meal in June and would visit again. The menu is mostly straightforward pub food at reasonable prices. My steak and ale pie with a glass of Erdinger Alkoholfrei was very good, but mushy tinned or frozen carrots are never a good idea. My partner had two starters instead of a main and enjoyed both the duck pate, served with plenty of oat cakes, and the home-style chicken and rice soup. I had to point out that the water carafe was dirty inside. There's plenty of parking nearby.

I took my elderly mum for the Easter Sunday carvery at this excellent hotel, which is well regarded by locals. The food was superb, with every item cooked just right. Mum is vegetarian and loved the sweet potato tart. The desserts were fab too.
