The apartment lived up to the inviting pictures: it's lovely, well furnished and had everything we could want. The owners live nearby and quickly dealt with a couple of very minor things. We had no trouble parking close by, and the road I'd worried might be busy turned out not to be. We've visited this area many times and had grown tired of the hotels, so this will be our place when we come to Tynemouth or Newcastle. It really couldn't have been much better for our late-April long weekend.

We slept soundly in the good bed, and the bedroom has plenty of wardrobe space. The lounge's huge, top-of-the-line TV has a seriously sharp picture. This basement flat worked well for my wife and me, with opening windows, and it's very well equipped: a full kitchen with a dishwasher, plus a lovely bathroom with a square-ended bath and shower above. There's no grab handle, but the towel rail is right at the end and can be held when getting in or out. The only thing we missed was a fan. Opening the windows let in lots of little flies. Location-wise, it's very handy for Tynemouth, with street parking usually available right outside. Fisherman's wharf and its car park overlooking the Tyne mouth are close, as are fresh fish and a good Chinese restaurant two minutes' walk behind the flat.
