Breakfast was surprisingly good, and the staff were incredibly friendly and ready to answer questions. We booked a family room for two nights. It was spacious and cleaned to a satisfactory standard. The hotel is very dated, but for the price, the stay was good and we can't fault much. It's the cheapest hotel available, so you get what you pay for. If you're driving, watch out for the potholes at the car park entrance. Unless you're in a monster truck, you may be concerned about damaging your vehicle. We worried about ours and left it parked until we checked out. We'd come again if we needed somewhere cheap and clean.

I had to stay over Christmas because of an emergency, and the owners were very pleasant and helpful. Parking was only 10 yards from my room. The room was clean and warm, the sheets fresh and crisp, and the bathroom was fine. Breakfast was hot, tasty, and more than enough. For the price, it was excellent value. Couldn't really fault it.

Check-in was quick and easy, and there's a secure, locked car park with quite a few spaces. I'm a solo traveller here for work with a van. Cooked breakfast is included, and the Wi-Fi and TV are decent, though the TV has only a few channels. It's a little dated, but I'd rather pay less and stay here than pay double at a bigger chain hotel that doesn't include breakfast. The shower had good pressure and was nice and hot, and the towels and toiletries were good.

It's an old-fashioned hotel, very last century. Two of us shared a family room for 5 days, with two single beds and one double. The bedding was nice and clean, and there's a little fridge, but the room was very cold because staff had left the back door open and only one radiator was on. The Wi-Fi wasn't good. Breakfast was included with all room bookings. On weekdays it ran from 7am to 8.45am, but at weekends it was 7.30am to 8.45am, which was confusing. I asked for everything, but they didn't provide grilled tomatoes or fried bread. The baked beans arrived barely warm, almost cold. One member of staff was very rude, though the others were okay. There were two of us, but we were given only one key, which caused problems. Booking online showed different prices from booking at the hotel, where a room was much more expensive. Parking was a nightmare. The drive around the back was very bumpy, and you have to call staff to open the gate to the car park. Good for a one-night stay.

The owners made us feel so well looked after, more than anywhere else we’ve stayed. Our room was a bit dated, but clean and comfortable, and breakfast was very good. We spent two nights here and would happily come back. The location is ideal for shopping and nightlife.
