Sedgebrook Hall

Helen and Izzy were warm, friendly, and attentive, and we really enjoyed the food and breakfast selection. On our one-night stay, the room was spotless, comfortable, and well equipped for a relaxing break. Sedgebrook Hall sits in beautiful grounds and has a peaceful atmosphere. A fantastic visit from start to finish. We'd definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

WORST STAY OF MY LIFE. I'd give it zero stars if I could. We booked a nice night away together and should've stayed home. We paid for dinner, but the restaurant didn't have it, so they put us at the bar. Nobody explained there'd be no table service. The staff were in the next room on their phones while the bar was unattended. We waited about 30 minutes, then had to go up and ask. At breakfast, the person working ignored us until we asked to be seated and order. She said, “oh I didn't see you,” though only about six other tables were eating. Check-out was at 11, but at 10, while I was in the shower, the room service woman came in. I heard the door and shouted that I was in the shower, then she apologised. Before 11, we saw her do the same at a couple of other rooms. The place seems severely understaffed, and the staff they do have seem undertrained. Bits were floating in the pool too. I'll never come back, and I'll make sure people hear about this appalling experience.

The winter break special offer was good value, and I'd definitely come again. We enjoyed the food, the location, and the service, especially from Helen. The one letdown was that the room didn't feel properly serviced before we arrived: there was very little toilet paper, crumbs on the table, and only the bare minimum of teabags.

We keep coming back to Sedgebrook Hall because the service and atmosphere are second to none. Helen is our favourite staff member. We look forward to seeing her, and she always remembers us, which makes all the difference. Michelle has served us at dinner on most of our stays and helps us feel comfortable too. We'd recommend staying here, and we're also considering having our wedding here.
