The staff were really friendly and helpful, and we’d stay again for an overnight visit. The common areas were lovely, with a clean bar, and breakfast was delicious, although it could have been warmer. Our room was very large but dated and not cleaned very well. There was a thick, old cobweb in the lower corner by the bedside table. The bathroom wasn’t cramped, but its dated look made it seem a bit grubby.

The sausages at breakfast were dreamy, and the rest of the breakfast was delightful. I was hugely impressed, especially since I hadn’t expected this from a Best Western. The room was lovely, the air conditioning worked perfectly, the shower was fantastic, and the beds and duvets were really comfortable. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area.

I picked this hotel for its location near the event I was attending. It was clean, the staff were very friendly, and breakfast was excellent. The bar was inviting and the dining area comfortable. My wife and I both thought some areas looked dated and could use a fresh coat of paint. That’s the only reason for four stars.

The wedding team clearly had a great rapport with the bride and groom, and the room was beautifully decorated, which helped make the day feel special. The food was disappointing: twice I was served meat instead of a vegetarian option, and the vegetables were overcooked. The waiting staff were friendly and very apologetic about the meal mistakes. The Brook Hotel staff were also helpful and welcoming during the wedding. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

Breakfast was good, and the receptionist was pleasant enough to move me to what they called a better room when I arrived. Even so, it was scruffy in places, so I wondered what the other room was like. I stayed for three nights, and after two nights the heater and fan unit broke. They offered me a portable heater instead.
