We left the next morning after a miserable night, having slept poorly in our clothes. The only real plus was the parking space near the Anglia square part of Norwich. The place smelled of cigarettes mixed with cheap air freshener as soon as we arrived, so we opened the windows and ended up cold. There were holes in the walls, dirty marks on the bedding, and mould all over the bathroom. A piece of metal sticking out from the kitchen sideboard caught my son's clothes and tore them. We couldn't reach the owner by phone, and got no response to our texts. We've been trying to get a refund ever since, but the owner apparently thinks these conditions are acceptable. I'd tell people to take the bad reviews seriously and save themselves the hassle. If you do stay, you might as well sleep in the car.

We'd booked the room weeks ahead, but on the morning we were due to travel, the owner told us we couldn't stay because, as he put it, 'he had private guests who won't leave.' The message was dismissive and didn't acknowledge how hard it would be to find somewhere else during half term. We couldn't get accommodation at short notice, and the alternative offered was 30 miles outside the city. Appalling service, and completely unacceptable.
