The room was plain but did the job, and breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. The grounds are lovely, and it’s close enough to Norwich. The house has a lot of character, with old fittings to suit its 300 years of history. Very quiet and peaceful too.

I couldn’t get a decent night’s sleep here. Noise from outside or from loud guests made it hard to rest, so I wouldn’t choose this place for a peaceful break.

We’ve never stayed somewhere run so poorly. The room faced a rubbish tip, and extension leads ran across it just to get things working. There was a lack of care throughout the house. It’s run by volunteers and a trust, which says it all. Booking.com rates it 4 stars, which feels like an absolute joke. We were told it’s up for sale. Good luck to anyone staying there.

It’s a quiet spot in an old manor house that could use a little TLC. Breakfast was the usual standard. The room was roomy, though the TV was on the small side. The bed was long, and the shower controls were a bit stiff. Once I got the shower adjusted, it had a really strong spray. Blew my wig off 😄

I loved the peaceful feel of the house and its setting, as well as the people running it. Everyone was lovely. The place is quirky and quite beautiful, and I got a warm welcome. I slept well in the comfy bed, enjoyed the excellent shower and had a good choice at breakfast.
