The room had no working heat or hot water, and the toilet had only a curtain instead of a door, so there was no privacy or dignity. I raised it with Donna (the manager) and Isabella. They assured me they’d provide heaters, but nothing happened, and we were left without basic facilities in a cold room. The conditions were unfit for a guest, and we had to leave straight away and pay for another hotel that same night. This was one of the most distressing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. It fails at the most basic level of accommodation. Avoid at all costs.

Seven of us stayed here, and it felt more like a hostel than a hotel. The place was very dated, with ants in the rooms, and none of the TVs worked in any of the five rooms we booked. In one room, guests got locked inside; the manager got them out, but after that they couldn’t lock the door. The water was either boiling or cold, and the shower ran very slowly, just dripping out. Other guests were shouting and having a debate at 4am. It’s in a great location, and it might be nice if money were spent on it, but as it is, it’s definitely not worth £35 a night.

Worst place I’ve ever stayed. The rooms were disgusting, with no heating or hot water, and the shower dripped all night. The windows wouldn’t lock or shut properly, and I’m pretty sure it was riddled with bed bugs. Don’t go cheap here, it felt like a hostel, not a hotel. Minus zero stars.

The location is good, and the place could be decent, but in its current state it isn’t worth the money. It feels very tired and needs a proper update. The room wasn’t clean enough, and issues should’ve been sorted before guests arrived. Lots of things didn’t work properly, which made the stay frustrating. There were problems with the water and general maintenance, and it didn’t feel like the place was being looked after. Nighttime noise also made it uncomfortable. The man at the concierge was quite rude and didn’t seem interested in helping, which only made things worse. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The only real positive was that the reception staff were nice. We arrived at 3pm as agreed with the hotel, only to be told our room wasn’t ready, and were then put in room 18. It should not be available to guests. It’s old, hasn’t been updated, and hasn’t even been kept in decent condition. I later found proof on Tripadvisor of the same issues in 2024. I wish I’d read the reviews before our stay. There was a broken window and toilet, mould, unidentified stains, and a TV from the early 2000s. The room wasn’t heated enough, mainly because of the window, and the bedside table looked like it was made from duct tape and hope. We were exhausted from travelling and only noticed all this after midnight. When we’d dropped our luggage earlier, we spent maybe 15 minutes in the room, rushing to get ready for a dinner reservation, so we didn’t spot anything wrong then. We quickly checked online for nearby hotels, but none had availability. When we left at 7am, we told the man at reception, who advised us to email the hotel. The owner called while we were driving home and, after a long conversation, said she’d inspect the room, which she hadn’t even seen, and email us that afternoon. No email came, though we waited a few days. We then contacted Booking.com to escalate the complaint. Today, 17/02, they told us the hotel had refused to answer their emails, so they couldn’t proceed. We’d also reserved a parking space for £10, but it wasn’t available when we got back that night. We had to squeeze our large MPV in front of a car we later learned belonged to the owner, who lives two doors down. Avoid at all costs so you don’t waste your money. For some reason, I can only upload four images or videos, but I have a lot more.
