Emporium City Centre Self Catering

The entrance is secure, though it doesn’t feel very welcoming, which is my only real gripe and a picky one at that. It hasn’t put me off staying here. The owner and cleaner are very friendly, and there’s a pub downstairs if you fancy a drink. My room had everything I needed for a short stay: a TV, small fridge, fan, and a clean, comfy bed. There’s also cupboard and drawer space for a longer visit. The shower and bathroom have always been spotless, and the place is very clean for a good price. I’ve had a couple of noisy neighbours, but that was down to inconsiderate guests, not the owner.

We could hear the road from the room, though it wasn’t loud enough to disturb our sleep. The room was as expected, with a TV and fridge. The family run staff were amazing and so friendly, and they generously provide things for making your own breakfast, as well as hairdryers.

The shared kitchen is new and very well stocked, with tea, coffee, bread, ham, cheese, milk, juice, several cereals, jams, and even golden syrup. It also has two washing machines, a tumble dryer, two microwaves, two ovens, plus a fridge and freezer. The toilets and shower are modern and clean. My room was a good size, modern and clean, with a decent flat screen, desk, double glazing, radiator heating, and a very clean, comfortable bed. Excellent!

The room was warm and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s very close to the city centre and other amenities. There are a few narrow stairs, so it may not suit someone with mobility difficulties. I’d be happy to stay again.
