Innkeeper’s Lodge Nottingham, Lowdham

The lady who checked me in and later served breakfast was welcoming, chatty, and lovely, though I didn't catch her name. Breakfast came quickly and tasted good. I slept soundly in double room number 5 at The Springfield Inn. It was quiet, looked out over the garden, and had a bed just how I like it with very comfortable pillows. I'd happily return if I'm in the area again.

You're always met with a warm welcome at this pub. It's cosy and charming inside, and the staff are fabulous. Jan especially deserves a mention. She clearly enjoys her job and makes customers feel valued. Well done!

I cancelled the booking and won't return to this establishment or chain. I've stayed here before using the same booking methods for the same period and had no complaints, but this time the terms were punitive and unnecessary. They were buried deep in the terms and conditions, and only after I booked did they chase me about them. This location is also the only place I could leave public feedback, even though I appreciate the issue wasn't directly caused by the establishment. I booked five rooms for two nights through booking dot com, choosing free cancellation and payment at the property. The next day, Innkeepers Central Reservations, not booking dot com, told me they would cancel unless I paid a 10% non-refundable deposit, signed a contract, and paid for all five rooms 28 days before the stay. Customer service didn't seem to care and just said it was that or cancel, so I cancelled. It's a shame businesses don't seem interested in listening to customers and just have a "computer says no" attitude. I'll make sure to share this experience too.

We had a great stay, and the location worked perfectly for us because it was just down the road from the wedding venue we attended. When we went to pay in the morning, the server gave me breakfast for free for my birthday. That was a lovely way to start the day, and the service was truly great.
