The public areas were nicely decorated and very clean, and the hotel has a modern feel. Our room seemed to have had a recent refurb, with lovely decor and a spotless, great bathroom. We didn’t eat there, so I can’t comment on the food.

My room smelled of old plumbing, the tap kept dripping, and the carpet was badly stained. When I went to close the window, it came away from its frame, which felt like a safety concern. The whole hotel looks dishevelled, run-down and poorly maintained. It badly needs investment and an overhaul to live up to its claim of luxury.

The food was okay, but the pizzas needed more sauce and cheese. The team were attentive, and there was a great range of draft beers. It felt more like a pub, though. I didn’t stay overnight at the hotel.

The location is ideal for a walk around the city centre, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed in mini double room nr. 202, which didn’t feel mini at all, there was enough space. It was clean, with a comfortable bed. There’s a minibar for an extra charge, and you can leave luggage at the hotel before check-in or after check-out. I’d stay again.
