It’s a decent place in a nice part of Nottingham. Our room was narrow, with little space beyond the bed, but it had tea and coffee making facilities and a TV. The bed was firm, though we slept well. The restaurant food was good and varied; breakfast was basic and nothing special. There’s a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym, but I wouldn’t describe it as a spa hotel. I don’t think they offer treatments, and the pool is small, about as wide as a normal pool is long.

The staff were especially kind and gave us a warm welcome and amazing service throughout our one-night stay. We booked a small double, which suited us since we only needed somewhere to sleep. It was clean, quiet, and had a high-end fan, which we appreciated on the first day of a heatwave. The amenities all worked. The mattress was quite firm, which I liked, though my partner found it too firm. I booked mainly for the pool area, and it was spotless. The pool itself was cold enough that we only went in up to our waists before deciding it wasn’t worth it for us. The hot tub was amazing, and we really enjoyed the pool area. A few details could use more attention, though they weren’t major problems: the bathroom radiator was rusty and dusty on top, there was buildup around the shower door trim, and a light switch was damaged but still worked. We’d stay again and try the pool another time in case it was just a cool pool day. We didn’t have time to eat at the restaurant this trip, but might next time. The great customer service really made our experience at the beeches hotel.

The staff were welcoming and lovely from start to finish, and the room was clean, warm and well stocked each day unless you opted out. We had a king bed, bedside lights, a big TV that could take a fire stick, biscuits for tea, fresh towels, toiletries, a hairdryer, ironing board and fan in the wardrobe. The tissue box had flowers made from tissues on the outside. There wasn’t any hand soap, so I bought my own because of skin sensitivities. I couldn’t use the liquid toiletries due to an aloe vera/latex allergy, but the bars were fine. The radiator clicked sometimes, though it didn’t bother us. The room was dark. Our room price was decent, much lower than other hotels I’d seen online, and access to the leisure and spa centre was included. The gym had plenty of equipment. The pool was too cold for me, since I hate being cold, but the jacuzzi was lovely and the sauna was a sauna. Everything was clean, and they gave us towels when we signed in. The showers had no locks, but that wasn’t a big deal since I showered in the room instead. We ate well here, with generous portions at dinner and a well-stocked buffet breakfast. Most breakfast options were dairy-free, which was a bonus for me. I have trouble with lots of foods, and the staff were great about making sure I didn’t have problems. There was a good range of teas and milk, including alternatives. There was plenty of parking, though it got full at times. We had no trouble finding a spot during our stay. The location was great, but traffic can be an issue, so I’d keep the windows shut while sleeping if you’re bothered by it. There’s a shop across the road, an Asda about a 20-minute walk away, and local bars and restaurants nearby if you don’t want to eat at the hotel. The walk to the city centre is a bit long, but parking there is plentiful. I think it was £9 max for a full day and mostly free after 8pm. On our side of town there were more bars and restaurants within a 20-minute walk, or you could park cheaply for the day. It was a wonderful stay with no problems. We were sad to leave and will definitely come back.

The restaurant food was lovely, but breakfast disappointed: it wasn’t very hot, and the bacon was really chewy. We also got to hear the noisy neighbours. The rooms definitely don’t feel 4-star. They’re very dated, with paint peeling off the bathroom cupboards. For two guests there was only one packet of biscuits and just enough for one cup of tea or coffee each. I also hit my head on a wall section that stuck out while trying to plug in my phone.

The full English breakfast was great, and there were vegan choices as well. The staff and chef were happy to cater to special dietary needs. Rooms were very clean and the accommodation was quiet, which we liked. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Access to the pool, sauna and hot tub was a bonus. I can’t fault the place, and the staff deserve credit for making a good hotel great. I’d recommend it and would return if I’m in the area.
