The food downstairs was a real highlight: loads of choice, generous portions, and quality ingredients. Some of the best pub and hotel food I've had. The restaurant and bar team deserve credit. Staff elsewhere were friendly and helpful, and having a Starbucks on site made it easy to pick up a coffee before heading out. I was here for three nights on business. The location worked well, with plenty of shops just a short drive away. The room was well equipped, with a big bed (though the double seemed to be two singles pushed together), a huge TV with Sky Sports, and a great bathroom and shower. It was a little small, the tea and coffee cups were tiny, and there was quite a bit of mould on the bathroom ceiling that needs cleaning. I didn't get to try the gym, pool, or spa, though I expect they're as good as the rest of the hotel. I'd stay here again for meetings and overnight trips around the Midlands.

The pool and gym were lovely, and the staff there were helpful. Breakfast was also really good, with plenty of hot and cold options and fresh hot dishes coming out every few minutes. Sheila and her team were attentive and helpful. We had a club room, and the bed was fantastic, but the carpet looked so bad it seemed ready to crawl away. Noise started around 6:30. After a midnight bathroom visit, the toilet hadn't finished flushing properly, and the dripping water woke me first. The heating made a noise like a kettle boiling that never quite reaches the whistle. We seemed to be right under the goods entrance, where noisy linen bins were taken out to a huge truck that beeped like a neighbour's alarm while reversing. I think there's a moth problem. We found a few dead ones in the room, and two live moths flew out of the bath mat when I put it down.

Honey, Dylan, and the rest of the staff made sure the HMS Gloucester crew had a brilliant weekend. We were at the Village Hotel for a reunion marking 35 years since the end of the Gulf War. The location suited us, the food was lovely, and discounted room rates made it easier for some of the crew. We also enjoyed the gym and swimming pool. Thanks to everyone at the Village hotel! 👏

The room could do with attention: there were no sockets by the bed, and the carpet badly needed replacing or a proper clean. Still, the food was perfect, and the weekend atmosphere was just right. The staff were warm, friendly, and helpful, especially lovely Sheila, who made us feel welcome.

The check-in was five-star, and breakfast staff were so friendly and accommodating. Shelia and Nina were especially lovely, always smiling and going out of their way to help. I really like the decor here, and the food was delicious enough that I ordered another serving of chicken wings. Definitely one of my favourite hotels.
