We’ve just come back from a really relaxing spa break. The staff were so kind and attentive, and our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful as well. We had afternoon tea in the library, and the staff took care to meet our dietary requirements. Breakfast was lovely and there was plenty of it. The spa facilities were clean and convenient. I’d suggest going early in the morning if you want it to be quieter.

We felt looked after from beginning to end, and could tell the team really cared about the day running smoothly. We stayed for three nights, and it was fantastic. The Wordsworth Suite and the Austen Room were both lovely, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and had stunning views. Everyone we met on staff was kind, helpful, and attentive to what we needed. Lunch was delicious, with a really extensive menu. My friend and I had booked a spa day with treatments, and everything went smoothly from the seamless check-in to the great tour. The staff were friendly and efficient throughout. Rebecca gave my full body scrub and full body massage. She was friendly, chatty, and clearly very experienced, and both treatments were amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my pamper day. We’ll definitely book again, and I’d highly recommend it. Thankyou.

Our ladies’ tea day was a lovely part of the visit. There were 11 of us in the Wirth Room, which felt nice and intimate, and the staff were attentive and made sure we had what we needed. Alfie was amazing and really looked after us. I chose to stay overnight rather than drive all the way home, but was very disappointed by the room. It was clean, though the floorboards squeaked with every step. I was scared to use the bathroom during the night because of the noise. The decor needs updating, as do parts of the exterior. There were birds nesting in the roof just above the bed. I could hear scratching and chirping through the evening, night, and at the crack of dawn, which really spoiled the stay. I know it’s an old building, but the room prices don’t match the maintenance and upkeep. I won’t stay overnight again.
