The food is good and plentiful, but getting it still frozen in the middle put me off, especially after I sent it back and got exactly the same thing again. Why advertise as pet friendly if dogs aren't allowed inside? Meanwhile their own dogs bark constantly and annoy the campers next door. No wonder the pub is empty.

The kids had toys in a quiet corner to play with since it was too wet and windy to use the outdoor play area, and there were other children to play with. We arrived more than an hour before opening, but they checked us in and let us into the room early. The service was fantastic, and the food was good with generous portions. It's very family friendly, with real ale, comfortable bedrooms and a log fire.

The cider was to die for, and I loved the stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the accommodation was very clean. I had a great night's sleep and would definitely stay again.

We had Mother's Day lunch, and all four of us enjoyed the good quality food. It was nicely presented and very tasty. The interior and atmosphere were pleasant, and it was very good value. I'd recommend a visit.
