The staff were okay and nothing went seriously wrong, but I doubt I'll book again. I've found better, cheaper places nearby. The price and handy location are why I've stayed a couple of times. Still, the hotel feels shabby in a way that's hard to pin down, and the corridors have an old hospital or care home smell. Our room had a very low ceiling, so we both kept hitting our heads, though the view was pretty good. On one visit the bed creaked ridiculously.

I paid in advance to get my sister a room urgently so she could be safe from domestic violence. The hotel refused to let her stay without ID, even after I phoned and explained the situation and said I'd booked and paid. I also told the woman that my sister's driving licence was at the home of her abusive partner. She said she didn't care and wanted to see the licence. I asked again if my sister could stay, and she said no. Absolutely disgusting service.

We lived here for four months, and nobody has dealt with a serious leak in all that time. The beds are dirty and smell awful, the wiring doesn't work properly, and reception staff are very rude. The service has been worse than usual. Why spend money here if they don't even show you respect?

For the price, it's passable and has most of what you need. There's a bed, bathroom, TV, desk and chair, plus a kettle with tea and coffee supplies. The bathroom also has small bottles of shampoo and body wash and a little bar of soap. I didn't sleep especially well because the beds aren't very comfortable, though they did the job. The windows need attention too, with a lot of grime along the top in several rooms. The bathroom is oddly noisy, maybe from a fan.

I couldn't sleep at all because kids in the room above kept rattling the floor after midnight. I was on the third floor, and where were their parents? I ended up asking to change rooms. Worse, after I went to the local shops, I came back to find someone from reception had been in my room and gone through my things. They were being nosy, and little did they know I had recorded them. Be warned. Next time I'll call the police. I'm never staying here again.
