The White Hart

We went for an evening meal, though the pub was open earlier for drinks and food was served from 5pm. It's a beautiful location, and inside the pub was warm, peaceful, clean and inviting. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful throughout. The food was amazing. My partner had poached chicken to start, while I had a rich, tasty beef and bone marrow pie with chips that were crispy outside and fluffy inside. Their beef ribs were delicious with creamy mash. We shared an extra-rich sticky toffee pudding and ice cream for dessert, which was divine. We each had a couple of pints. The total was just shy of £100, but well worth it. We didn't stay at the hotel, and can't wait to visit again.

The waitress handled the problems so professionally. She quickly replaced the cold sauces and kindly brought complimentary fudge for the birthday, which was a lovely touch. We chose The White Hart for my boyfriend's dad's birthday because we've always enjoyed coming here. The starters were lovely, and the Cumberland sausage main was great. The mains arrived quite staggered, so some of us were eating while others waited. The steak price was slightly different from the website, and it first came without its side. The peppercorn sauce for it and the tikka sauce with the seabass were both cold. The schnitzel was greasy, and its fries tasted stale. We've always loved The White Hart and hope this feedback helps. These are small things that could make a good experience even better. Thank you.

I filmed a wedding at The White Hart Inn at Lydgate as a content creator, and it was a joy to work with the welcoming, attentive team. The countryside setting is full of character and charm, with cosy interiors, natural light and views all around. Those details made each moment feel intimate and effortless on camera :)

A celebration could hardly have a better venue. The views were great, the amenities excellent, and I was very impressed.
