The staff were cheerful and welcoming throughout, and one receptionist deserves a special thank you. When my lift was late and I needed to get to the station quickly, she did her best to help me find a taxi. I wish I'd got her name. I had a very pleasant stay at Premier Inn and look forward to coming back. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable, and I have no complaints. It was extremely clean, especially the spotless bathroom. There was both a bath and a shower, which I loved since so many Airbnb places and hotels only have showers. I really enjoy a bath in the evening. Premier Inn gets it right.

We ended up staying three nights instead of two so we could spend more time with family, and had breakfast at the hotel each day. It was probably one of the best breakfasts we've had at any Premier Inn. The restaurant and reception staff were all lovely and friendly. We knew there was building work when we booked, but it never inconvenienced us. We'd definitely come back.

After a long drive on a hot day, the air-conditioned room was just what we wanted. The hotel is also well placed for visiting Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall. Thanks to the HSK team for keeping the rooms clean. A big thank you to Lea for dinner service on the evening of 25/05. She went the extra mile for everyone. She, her male colleague and one of the chefs worked hard to keep all the guests happy. Smiling service 🙂

The breakfast was good and the staff we spoke with were friendly, but those positives couldn't make up for this being my worst hotel experience. I've stayed with Premier Inn many times across the UK and usually choose it for the reliable comfort and on-site restaurant. After this stay at the Oswestry hotel, I'd seriously reconsider booking again. I hope it was an isolated case. Our room, number 18, smelled strongly of mould. It was overwhelming, and the smell reached the hallway. We were travelling with a small child, so it felt like a real health concern. By the end, even clothes hanging in the wardrobe had absorbed the smell and all our clothes needed washing. We reported it, but the hotel was full and we couldn't move rooms. The follow-up was frustrating too. We called the hotel and guest relations several times because our concerns hadn't been logged properly. Even after speaking with the hotel manager, we heard nothing from guest relations for six days, until we chased them again. The “Good Night Guarantee” felt more like an advertising promise than a real policy after this. Whether it was deliberately difficult to claim or we were simply unlucky, the process was disappointing. Given how serious the problem was, I expected a much quicker, more proactive response. Another change from the usual Premier Inn experience was the dining. Having a proper restaurant on site has been one of the main reasons we choose Premier Inn, especially when arriving late. Here the bar and restaurant have been closed and replaced with a basic dining area with no windows or toilets, while extra guest rooms have been added. The food was bland, so we didn't eat there again after the first night. That was especially inconvenient on the outskirts, where there are very few nearby options.

The rooms were spotless, comfortable and nicely presented, and the free parking made everything easier. The restaurant staff were outstanding, and breakfast was one of the best I've had anywhere, fresh and consistently well prepared. The woman who checked us in for breakfast made a real difference. She was warm and friendly, helped me get ready for a hiking trip with my team, and sorted out an issue that could have derailed our plans. I'm very grateful for how proactive and kind she was.
