The place feels neglected inside and out, and the owners don’t deal with customers or return calls. The owner was very rude. We couldn’t use the patio or reach the decking because the back door didn’t work. There was rubbish on the lawn, unsafe for children and dogs, and the area was fenced off fairly close to the lodge. The heating took ages to warm the room when we were there in early March at 4-5C, and there was no hot water. Despite advertising for dogs and children, it didn’t feel safe for them outside. There are extra charges for cleaning and hot tub use, so read every small detail of the reservation carefully. It’s privately owned and they don’t look after it, and you don’t have a comeback. There was no warning that roads to the place might flood. You can’t predict bad weather when booking, but owners should warn guests near the time if there are issues. In bad weather, the roads aren’t for the faint hearted and aren’t suitable for anything but 4x4s. I’m also not sure who owns all the land described in some adverts, since people walk past the place. This isn’t worth your money.
