We booked this hotel at short notice because the one we'd originally chosen felt unbearable. The room surprised us in a good way: it was freshly renovated, large, and had a big bathroom, a wardrobe, a roomy desk and air conditioning. Many hotels don't seem to think about where guests can put clothes and belongings. The shower was especially good, with both a movable rain head and a handheld option. Noise was the downside. We could clearly hear people walking around above us early in the morning and doors slamming. There were also loud people outside until about 1 am, though I suppose that's Friday night with a pub nearby. It didn't feel unsafe, just noisy now and then.

No parking, which was really the only downside. The room was clean and had an en suite, and the coded doors meant no key was needed. I like a warm room and had enough heating; it's an AC unit, so people who prefer it cool are catered for too. It's on a quiet road with a pub opposite. I would stay here again. I'm not sure about the services, but it's a nice place overall.

We were a family of four and stayed for two nights in late September. The price was reasonable, and it was about a 15-minute walk downtown, with Cowley Road shops and restaurants nearby. The neighbourhood was very quiet, and the room was clean and spacious. We'd rate it 4.5 and would happily return. The drawbacks were no fridge and no lift above the first floor.

The room was bright, modern and spacious, with a great shower and tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water provided. Staff were friendly, and the digital PIN locks on the front door and room made access clever and easy. It's not staffed around the clock, but the PIN system allows late check-in. Ideal for the O2.

For about $150 USD a night, this was a very disappointing stay, especially since the four-star IHG hotel had the same rate that week. The fridge smelled so badly of spoiled food when we arrived that it filled the room. The manager only removed it and didn't provide a replacement, a different room or a refund. The TV had no channels and no mirroring function, and both the room and bed were small.
