Hill Farm

We took a forest path to the nearby pub, Victoria Arms, then followed the Cherwell into Oxford and caught an Uber back. What a beautiful day! The room was lovely and breakfast delicious. Laura is a magnificent host. Highly recommended.

You'll want a vehicle from this location, just so you know, as it's a bit out in the country. We thought the room was good value for the price, and it had everything we needed. It was small, but exactly as described online, despite some complaints I'd read. My husband and I stayed for part of our second honeymoon and loved it. The food was wonderful, the bed extremely comfortable, and the room adorable, with beautiful surroundings. Our host was welcoming and accommodating.

The included Full English breakfast was excellent. Our room was clean and well decorated, with a very comfortable bed, and they provided toiletries, tea, coffee, and biscuits. The location is peaceful, away from the city and roads, while still near Oxford's outskirts and a short drive from the park and ride.

The breakfast staff were lovely and did a great job, but the vegetarian breakfast was a big disappointment. There was no veg sausage or halloumi, just an egg, a tomato, a small mushroom, a small pot of beans, three tiny potatoes, and one and a half slices of toast. I left hungry. The room was clean and came with tea, biscuits, and bottled water, a nice touch, but it felt very small and claustrophobic, and the dark walls didn't help. The double bed was a small one. The measurements were in the description, so that part was my fault for not paying attention, but it felt cramped sharing with my 6ft 3, big partner. The farm grounds are beautiful. I feel we paid a lot for what we got.
