We had to find a last-minute place in another city and take a coach to get there. Oxford was packed because it was graduation weekend. This happened after we arrived for our 15:00 check-in and couldn’t get in: Hotels.com had sent a confirmation the day before, but there was no access code. No one answered the phone number we were given or the iRing, and the number listed here doesn’t exist. There was no way to reach the owner, which is unacceptable. A kind guy from the barber shop next door tried to help and managed to call the owner, so he does exist. The owner said we supposedly hadn’t paid, though we obviously had, and told us to go away. It’s clear he doesn’t have the time or interest to manage the place himself.

BEWARE. My room was noisy because it faced a busy road, and it hadn’t been cleaned properly. I’d booked a one-bedroom apartment but was given a little room instead. The property didn’t respond to any of my attempts to contact them, and Booking.com was no better. There are plenty of better options in Oxford.
The location is good and the price is competitive, so it seemed like a good deal. But the hotel cancelled my reservation several weeks before my stay without giving a reason. I tried calling and they never answered. Now I have to book elsewhere just several weeks out, and it’ll be outrageously more expensive. I’m very frustrated and annoyed.
At 6:30 at night we were left standing outside with nowhere to go. Our booking was for a room that was occupied and a mess when we arrived; there was nobody on site, and nobody answered the phone. When I contacted the owner, they questioned whether I was being honest about what had happened. Really disappointed. I just can’t believe this happened.
It’s 22.25 and I’m on my way back to London. I’ll have to catch the 7.50 train tomorrow morning AGAIN, because I never got a code to enter my room. The phone number on the website is wrong, and nobody answers the bell. I also asked the barber next door and the pub opposite, but neither could help. What else can I say? Nothing polite, so I’ll stop here to avoid being very rude.
