The room was comfortable, but I barely slept for two nights. The old windows didn’t shut properly or block sound, and with seagulls yelling and flying around day and night in the central city, it was impossible to get a good sleep. There were no blackout curtains either, and the shutters were broken.

The apartment was overpriced and a disappointment. The linen was dirty, and they only changed it reluctantly after we complained. The young mongrel who showed us the room was friendly at first, but later wouldn’t even look at us or say hello. There’s also a dingy boozer on the ground floor.

Room 1 turned out to be a huge flat with several rooms, much more than I expected for a one-night stay. The interior was very nice, the TV was huge and the WiFi fast. There was even milk in the fridge. I’d definitely book again if I’m ever back in Padstow. A small kitchen unit or microwave would be a good addition to the large living area.

We were given a complimentary upgrade to a room with a large living area, and it was ready before the agreed check-in time. The shower space was very large. Great location near the harbour, though it got a little noisy at night.

The location is great, but the low ceilings and several tight spots mean you’ll keep hitting your head unless you’re very short. The stairs are extremely steep and narrow, with a low ceiling, so this is absolutely unsuitable for anyone unable to climb them.
