YHA Treyarnon - Hostel

We stopped in a few times in February for a drink after walking or swimming in the sea pool below. It was relaxed and a great place to watch the sunset. It seemed quiet, though that may just have been because of the time of year.

Stacy’s care made a tough camping trip feel safe. We came to this YHA in mid February, and the freezing winds and nonstop rain made the weather brutal. At check in, Stacy seemed genuinely surprised we were camping in those conditions, but she took time, even though it was busy, to explain the wind directions and terrain and tell us about the indoor facilities we could use. She kept checking on us, too. At 2 AM, with the storm at its worst, she came out to our tent in the heavy rain and offered us a spare room if we wanted to move inside. Her advice on pitching the tent was professional, and her concern felt sincere. We felt safe and supported despite the reckless weather. I’ve stayed at many YHA locations and have never met a staff member as responsible and dedicated as Stacy. I can’t praise her enough, and I’ll definitely come back to camp here.

This place has something unique about it. The staff are super friendly, the bar has good local bottled beers, and the music nights are awesome. Food is OK, and the pizza is good. It gets insanely busy, so arrive early or bring patience. I’ve never stayed here, but the staff are amazing, so I’m sure the accommodation is good too.

We had a spacious, clean room and found it good value for money. Staff were kind and the food was good, especially breakfast, which I can recommend. It’s a perfect place for a family holiday in May, with the beach just a few meters away. Sometimes there are great waves for surfing, and the rock pools at low tide are great fun for the whole family.
