Breakfast was a highlight each morning: a great selection, cooked perfectly, with lots of laughter and lovely conversation. Marc and Julie were warm and kind from the moment we arrived, and the Merrit Guesthouse was spotless, beautifully presented and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Off-street parking was a real bonus. We loved how Marc and Julie welcomed us while still giving us space. Every conversation felt easy, with fun, friendly banter, like staying with old friends. In the mornings they'd ask what we'd done the day before, chat about it and suggest other local things based on what we liked and how we felt, especially after we'd destroyed our feet at Paignton zoo. It's a peaceful spot, yet the town is a minute's stroll away and the beach only a little further. We loved every minute and already know we'll be back. Paignton and the surrounding area make a wonderful holiday, and the Merrit Guesthouse felt like home from home. Thank you, Marc and Julie. With love from Matthew and Clare

Marc and Julie gave us a friendly welcome, and there were little extras in the room that made our stay nicer. The Merritt Hotel is ideally placed, near both the beach and station. Definitely choose the breakfast, I'd rate it 10/10. Thank you, Marc and Julie.

The room was lovely and a really relaxing place to stay. It's close to all the amenities. I'd say the best thing to do is take the train and ferry around the area.
